Frequently Asked Questions

A few gentle answers for those just arriving.

The 12 Steps of DEP-ANON

Who is Dep-Anon for?

Dep-Anon is for anyone supporting a loved one living with depression. You don’t need to have experience with 12 Step programs—just a willingness to reflect and grow.

Can I join if I also live with depression?

Yes. If you’re supporting someone else and feel drawn to this space, you’re welcome. We honor your experience with care.

If you’re primarily seeking support for your own depression, we also encourage you to explore Depressed Anonymous, a 12 Step fellowship specifically for individuals living with depression.

Do I have to speak in meetings?

No. You’re welcome to listen quietly. Sharing is always optional.

Is this a religious program?

No. Dep-Anon is spiritual, not religious. We welcome people of all beliefs and backgrounds. The word “God” in the Steps is open to personal interpretation.

Is there a cost to participate?

No. Dep-Anon is freely offered. There are no dues or fees—just a spirit of shared service.

How do I start a meeting?

If you feel called to begin a Dep-Anon meeting, we’re here to support you. Reach out through the Contact Page, and we’ll share gentle guidance.
